Africanesque Fyfield
Oil on canvas 2008
50cm x 70cm (19.75" x 27.5")
Fyfield, part of the Marlborough Downs and littered with Sarsen Stones, becomes a scene from the African plains, the stones morphing into African wildlife. Even the trees take on a slightly African quality. The inspiration for this painting came whilst the artist was out walking on the Fyfield downs, and was able to imagine the stones taking on different shapes and coming to life!
